This 65 Mustang has been in
the Gutierrez family for quite a while. Martin got the car when he was
14. At that time it was Honey Gold. Martin painted it a Turquoise Green.
Shortly after that, the car was keyed and the transmission "blew up".
After sitting up for a while,
Martin and his father began to rebuild the car. They replaced the original
2 barrel carb with a Holley 4 barrel double pumper, and then installed
a larger radiator. It went back to the paint shop and got a new make
over to Cherry Black. The engine is the original 289 with well over 250,000
original miles on it and its still going strong. They added some rims
and tires and then started on the interior. Martin then joined the Army
and was stationed over seas in Germany.
Martin is currently stationed in Georgia and
the car is in Texas with Martin's parents where it's been for the last
4½ years. The car is going to be sent to Georgia where Martin
plans to restore it completely from the ground up.
