Robbie says: I think the first time I laid eyes on a
Mach 1 was when I was maybe 7 or 8 years old. I said to myself
, "Man I've got to have one of those when I get my drivers
license." Thirty years later I finally own one. I purchased
the 1969 Mach 1 here in Hawaii and most of the work was pretty much
done. I added a few things like the louver, spoilers and new
magnum 500s with BFGoodrich radial T/A's. The car has a modified
paint job that folks seem to really love and I also feel the
same. It has Mazda white stripes on a royal blue metallic
borrowed from a 92 Ford probe.It has a 351 Windsor that's
bored .030 over with Keith Black forged aluminum pistons,
high energy Comp cam, Eldebrock alum performer heads, Weiand
alum stealth intake with a Holly 670 street avenger carb mounted
on top. It also has a Holly electric fuel pump with a MSD
6AL ignition system that keeps the fire burning. The 2.5"
exhaust system consists of Hooker headers with a H pipe cross
over tube and Flowmaster's. The transmission is a C 6 automatic
with a B&M ratchet shift kit and a 8.8" rear end
with a 4.10 gear. I have not had the car on a dyno yet but
I did take it down to the local track and made few runs and
my best ET was a 13.28 @ 103 mph. |
